Then I’ll take those with me on trips.

Some of the kids get games or kid’s movies put on their tablet and it helps keep them entertained pretty well.

Thanks.

I came over at two years old, and when people ask me where I am from, I tell them the part of the UK where I grew up. And it happens that they would then ask the questions you’re listed. However, in the UK, people are more reserved, they keep themselves to themselves and less likely to chat to strangers like in America. I felt the difference when I worked in North Carolina for three months.

I live in the tropics and no matter how I regard myself as not anti-American anything, I can’t help but realize I am actually agreeing to this post. You see, I had the American dream once being from a country with so much American influence. But when I went to the US for visit, I only saw separatism and individualism much so to a level of extreme but in a funny sort of way. People are friendly in the suburb where my aunt lived that they greet ‘How are you?’ several times but then there’s that closed off vibe that they never really know what’s going on with your life.

Anyway, not to sound complaining. I just wanted to drop a message to say hi and that your IG photos always make my day. I lost my black and yellow lab last year, 6months apart and I just realized I haven’t browsed through your feed in a while I didn’t even realize you brought Max and Bruce to Japan! 🙂 Keep the photos coming.

I’m a half thai, half American woman- no accent; look white, but have Asian eyes. I’m on the taller side, but have thicker thighs. People are always dumbfounded when they realize I’m not ‘white’.

I know you will find the same nosy people. It kind of comes with the ownership of huge dogs. I get it every time I take our Newfie for a walk.
I was sad to read how you struggled to fit in. I live in a neighborhood where having an accent it more the norm than not.
The couple across the street are Russian, a few doors down is a Polish family and around the corner is one of my favorite people who happens to be French. I’m an American, born and bred.
I think many of us are curious about people from other places. Though I’ve never asked I’d love to have a conversation with several of them about where they came from and how they got here. But I know many of them might not want to talk about it so I don’t ask. I just think it’s a shame we can’t talk about things openly. Getting to know people better is one think but poking your nose into their business isn’t right.
I truly hope thinks go better this time. I love your pictures…. Best Wishes,
Pat Williams

I can relate to this so much. People ask me ALL THE TIME what my nationality is. I wanna say “American” but I know they WANT to hear “Puerto Rican”. I get asked if my eye color is my real eye color. My favorite is “what are you? You’re so exotic looking.” *rolls eyes* I know people are just curious and usually have good intentions but it’s annoying.
