HTHAY?
That’s short for : Hi there, how are you? My own little acronym just for you. Because this time around we are making a list suggested by the lovely Jennifer: 10 acronyms you use regularly. Surprisingly I don’t use any except maybe JPEG ( Joint Photographic Experts Group ) and SOOC ( Straight Out Of Camera). I will admit that occasionally you will see me type LOL in the comments on your listicles but I am always truly laughing to tears when I do! So I asked my husband, who works in the Navy which is famous for never using words and always communicating in acronyms, to write me a list. I thought he will tell you all about that time I read him a text from his boss and said ‘jada jada jada kiss and a hug’. But apparently men don’t send each other kisses and XO stood for Executive Officer. Anyhow, he did write me a list but said it is not PG13 rated. I have no idea what these 10 stand for so I am going to take a wild guess what my husband and his men talk about in the office.
Before I tackle this, let’s see what the plan is for next week! This one will be fab, chosen by super fly Kristi:
@northwestmommy Stasha, have you done the ten things that you love that cost nothing yet? I got a whole bunch for that one! #mondaylisticles

Sound good to me, rather witty I must say! I had a hard time with this until I read your and Sprogs list. I didn’t realize how many acronyms I do use. First and embarrassingly I work at a community college (not that i’m embarrassed to work for them but that i forgot that one!) and use their acronym all the time, not to mention jpeg, RAM, ROM, CD, and on and on! I can’t wait to read others and see all the ones I overlooked!
Oh AND I Can’t wait for next week! Fabulous topic!

Hah! Swag is awesome.
I regularly use, WTF (F does not equal face in my part of the world), OMG and LOL when typing, and GTFO (Get The F Out – again, F does not equal face).
When I worked at Nike, I was baffled for the first week because they talk in ALL ACRONYMS ALL THE TIME. It must be an American thing.

I always feel like a million bucks when someone responds to me GTFO. Like I am Jay Leno, you know 😉
I use WTF all the time. NEVER LOL.

I like BZ – with two boys and the husband, I certainly feel like I’m in their space often. Glad I don’t need to share a bathroom with my younger boys.

I have a friend who is truly irked by LOL–she hates it with a vengeance–so I really only use that one with her, just to get on her nerves!!

LOVE that video…hubby is so far behind with social media and technology…heck he can’t even create a table on word. That will so be him when Anthony is older.

I love your interpretation! I could only come up with a few that I use, but I wasn’t thinking about the LOL, ROFL, OMG and others. I’m sure I could have done a whole page. I WAS thinking about Hubs common use of RTFM, used to chide himself when he can’t figure out how to use something. (Read The F-ing Manual) Haha

Confession: I often have to Google acronyms because I cannot figure them out or remember what they stand for. And when they have multiple interpretations? I am totally lost.

I hear you. First time I saw LOL was in an email from hubs family and I responded Love you loads too. Then his aunt, twice my age told me what it meant. Eh… Let’s just say we are too posh for acronyms!

I like your list. I’ve read some of the posts linked. I now have a headache, in a good way. Hope you are well!
