My dear friends.
I feel like a little apology is in order. As you can see I am falling a tad behind with reading your listicles and I feel so very bad about it. Not trying to make excuses but I do have a teenager living with me and worrying about whether she is having a good time while staying with us is preoccupying 97.1% of my time. I just cannot crack her to determine if she is polite or truly having a fun even if she does look like she swallowed a lemon. My husband keeps saying that she is a teen like any other, but I am sure it’s all my fault. I really want to have our exchange student loving her time spent with us. Any advice?
While I ponder my shortcomings of being a host family, let’s share 10 PHOTOS OF LIFE WITH KIDS. This topic is courtesy of Christine. I am really excited because you know I love photos!
Next week Amanda says:
@NorthWestMommy I’ve got an idea for a future listicle. Have we ever done a list of things that are completely impractical? Could be fun…

Let me see what your days look like!
Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

cute photos, I just love those dogs! I don’t know what to tell you about your guest. Does she enjoy the beach or photography? Those are you fields of expertise that she might enjoy seeing and learning about.

I just love the one with the 4 of you staring out at the ocean. I wouldn’t worry about your student so much. Your family and environment are amazing…no way she can’t be having the time of her life whether she shows it or not. I’m considering hosting a foreign exchange student now that we have an extra room…most likely from Japan since the kids are learning Japanese. Anyhow, thanks for choosing my topic this week…I better head over to my blog and post!

I love your photos as always and am always extra pleased to see you in one. As the mother of a fairly gentle teen, they are just hard to read. I think I was worse than my own in that way. But you can not do anything but include them in everything and hope they say when they do not like something. It is all a learning experience for the both of you. It’s all good.

Your instagram pictures are amazing! Mine sort of turn out sometimes. And no need to apologize! Life happens. My advice is that teenagers are easier than they let on. Mine require very little in life in order to be quite content! Hang in there!

Love that first one! Not sure what to advise with your student. I used to teach ESL & help counsel students who were studying at our school. I found vast cultural differences in how students dealt when they had problems with their homestay families or were homesick. Where’s she from?

Nice pix. There’s a man who walks his dog (the same breed as yours) where I walk my little 10 lb Tucky. That dog is a gentle giant for sure. I doubt the exchange student would be lying about having a nice time. Does she have kids her age to hang around with while she’s there? As long as she isn’t being smothered, she should be just fine!

The one of you all sitting on the beach is my favorite!
And advice for your teenager – talk about music. That’s always an ice breaker.

I may not be the expert on teen girls; however, I have a 16 year old son as well as a 25 year old. The latest remark that Stefan showed his teenage self was,” Mom, it’s not cool to hang out with your parents” We were trying to get him to go to a movie. However, his mood can change ever so slightly and he will surprise me with…”Mom, you want to have a game night?” We played Monopoly and had a great time. My other son enjoyed sports and really liked us to be at every sporting event so he never minded us being around til he was in college football . That was understandable and we gave him space. She obviously does not love the great outdoors because that to me would have been heaven to me as a teen! Shopping, pedicures and open up a Seventeen magazine may give you ideas. Any other teens nearby that she can meet? Just my brainstorming…hope this helps! @wwjd50 @dwazi_2
I always love a photo theme. Besides the fact it’s easy to put together, I so enjoy looking at everyone else’s.
As I wrote the word “judgmental” incorrectly for the millionth time, I thought of a topic. Perhaps 10 Words You Always Misspell?
Thanks for hosting such a fun hop!

That’s it Stasha.
I have officially decided right at this moment, I will be visiting you. Haven’t decided whether I’m bringing my girlies or not, but the scenery is so gorgeous I need to experience it with those other four senses!
