Monday Listicles

Listicle 101.

First and formost a hugely humongous thank you for celebrating centennial listicle last week. You all are really truly awesome. Hvala! Gracias! Ihe edn! تشكّرين ! 謝謝 ! Merci! Danke! ધન્યવાદ ! Grazie! धन्यवाद ! ありがとう ! Takk! Спасибо! 고마워 ! Asante sana! Salamat! ขอบคุณ ! Ngiyabonga! Dziękuję! Terima kasih!

This week we are sporting a list on what we notice about others first. I could easily write you a hundred things I don’t. Not so easy to write 10 I do, but I will try. Great suggestion Donetta, cheers.

Next week, brought to you by Julia.

Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

1. Smile. Or the lack of.

2. Hands. And gestures they make with them.

3. Shoes. And if they are cared for.

4. Teeth.

5. Their eyes. And if they are making contact with me.

6. Hand shake. Specially with men.

7. If they truly want to be doing what they are doing at that moment.

8. If I will like them or not.

9. If they possess a funny bone. It’s an x-ray kind of talent I have.

10. If I would enjoy taking photos of them.

Yes – definitely the smile thing. you should smile when you meet someone. no matter what.
and then I notice eyes – whether they make direct eye contact. Those 2 things can tell me a lot about a person – far above how they are dressed, or their hair style, etc.
with men, I notice arms. weird, I know. I like arms, what can I say.

I like your last answer – so you!
I notice hand shakes too, and I spend far too much time theorizing what they’re really like based on that!
(You included the Malay thank you!)

A smile and funnybone are must-haves, in my opinion! But I must say, we might not ever be able to meet in person. My shoes are usually a little questionable. 😉

When I meet someone I usually always notice their smile. (and teeth) That’s the dental assistant in me. But…. mainly I notice if they are pleasant and friendly and initiate conversation well. That means a lot! Great post!

For me, I think I notice teeth and smile, followed by eyes. I look for signs of friendliness when I meet someone for the first time.

Smile and eye contact are two big things I notice. Also, a fake laugh type thing… this is an interesting topic. I’ll have to give it some thought!

I like the funny bone one – you are right, you can often tell if a person has a sense of humor when you meet them. I have trouble relating to people without one. And the shoes – absolutely!

I try not to judge but if a man has a weak handshake he does not leave much of an impression on me. You?

A limp handshake is the worst! I have a friend who’s in her 40s and has never been married, and is in the dating game. She totally judges a man by his shoes…if they wear white tennis shoes to their first date, he doesn’t have a second chance. I think that’s pretty funny!
