I am dreadful with numbers.
Math has never been my strong suit, but as I get older numbers and I struggle to get along even more.
In general the higher the number, the worse. The obvious would be age. And weight off course. Those two I always add, never loose.
Prices I would rather be on the low then high side too. Unless we are valuing something I already own. Then feel free to reverse that statement.
Credit report I believe higher is better too. In fact I treat myself to a free credit score every month just to equal out the universe for the extra five pounds I seem to gain.
Followers to my blog, now that I don’t mind being in the high numbers. The more, the merrier. Twitter followers and facebook likes too. And votes for the photography contest I entered my cute son’s face into. Yes, feel free to add some votes to that please.
I never had a lucky number either. I always liked 7, probably because it is slim and classy looking. I also look back on 127 fondly. It is the number that I told them to put on my ID in 2006 to represent my weight. I remember thinking I need to loose ten pounds to make that statement true. Needless to say I am still living a lie. And adding. Since I am bad at math, I can use that as an excuse.
My son on the other hand is a four kinda guy. It has always been his favorite number. He is four years old. He wants four pieces of everything, even broccoli. No more, no less. 4.
And you?

numbers represent so much in our world, don’t they?
for me, there will always be #10 – because it was Guy Lafleur’s jersey number (hockey), then along came the Great One at #99 (Gretzky – again, hockey – is it obvious I’m Canadian?)
Then there is #8 which is also the symbol of infinity. good thing there.
Oddly for me, it’s a number most people wouldn’t pick: unlucky #13
unless you happen to be born on that day, in which case, it suits me fine

I hate numbers too – I used to be “good” at math, and then I hit 6th grade and it all fell apart. I liked geometry (but that’s not really MATH). My children have both inherited their father and grandfathers facility with numbers and already, with the 11 year old, I’m close to being out of my depth, which is sort of humiliating. I can still help the 7 year old, at least, although that’s probably going to end soon, too. It’s kind of galling, actually, this number thing, b/c it means that our house is really gendered: daddy pays the bills and mommy does the grocery shopping. ugh.

This post made me smile, I like 7 for the exact same reason and 4 has always been my number, it’s pretty!

I love math and numbers! I like how they stand for something fairly clearly…they are what they are. I like 3 and 5…not sure why. They just seem to resonate with me somehow.

I think I read somewhere that the number seven seems to be very popular. When choosing a number between one and ten, seven is most likely to be chosen. (statistically)(argh more math)
A nun told me that the number seven represent god. She had several examples to prove her argument.
I had tried to go against the grain and not chose my favorite number. Somehow I always go back to it.
I tend to write the number seven as Europeans do with the slash through it. It would drive my teachers crazy. It like the slashed seven it can’t be mistaken for any other number not even zero, which of course I slash too.

I have never been good at Math but taught Accounting to high school students. Accounting was so calming. It was always supposed to balance, debits equaling credits. I liked that.
Oh and alarm clocks are always set on an off number. Never at 6:00, instead at 6:02!

What a fun post! I’m bad in math too, but not to worry- just yesterday I came across Einstein’s quote: “Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater.”

I’m Chinese so I like the number 8. It’s the month of my birth (August), my cell phone number ends in the number 8, it’s prevalent in my Malaysian identity card as well.
I’m so superstitious, aren’t I?

Haha..love this post. I always liked the number 11. It reminds me of what my legs look like. I use to be made fun of for my “11″ legs…now that I”m a higher age chronologically…I”m rather fond of my 11′s

Hmmm, I’ve never really had a favorite number. I do like 3 – round and bumpy, but not closed off on all sides. And 10 and 11 because they are the month and day of my birth.

I like the number 32; I also like 34. Not sure why, really. And, I am awful at math. Awful. The thought of math makes me sweat and gives me nightmares.

I like #7 b/c it’s the day of my birthday and a number I wore during sports in college intramurals. I also like 31 b/c that was my basketball and volleyball number in high school…I picked it b/c I liked Reggie Miller!

I’ve missed reading you! I’ll try to stop by more often & I have to get back to blogging. The proverbial kick in the butt would be a good thing.
Oh how I dreaded math – I was bad at the whole numbers thing, too. I seem to be grasping better than I thought I would.
6 has always been my number. Not sure why, it just has been. If you asked when I began using it as my favorite, I couldn’t tell you but it’s been a really long time.

I love seeing my weight in kgs as opposed to pounds, it makes me feel better about myself (until I do the conversion). I’ve always been partial to the #13 – for some reason it has always brought me luck.

Josh has always loved 8, which is good because it’s Cam Neely’s number. ha ha. He and I are definitely math/number people. Even his favorite show has to do with math (Team UmiZoomi).
Four has always been my lucky number! Yay, Little J! And it’s in my hockey number, 54.

7 seems like a good lucky number, 8 is nice and symmetrical, though a little rotund for my taste, and 12 was my soccer jersey number. I also like the big TWO of course. But I agree about numbers on the scale – they can be rather mean.
