Party time

I woke up with a mother of all colds.

No biggie right? Except tonight is the one time a year I get to dress up and go out to party all night. Office Christmas party. Even better, it is my husband’s work one! So I get to have all the fun without worrying about what my colleagues think. As you can see, I am bummed for a reason.

There is even worse news. Yes, worse then poor Kate Middleton hospital prank. Which was terrible to say the least. Unlike Duchess of Cambridge I have nothing to wear for tonight’s party. Well I have a closet full of party clothes dating back to my single years, but they are either out of style or do not fit me anymore. OK, none of them fit me anymore…

Adding to all this drama, party has moved to a new location this year. A posh casino an hour away from home. I have never been to a casino, but I am imagining James Bond sipping martinis and pretty girls kissing his dice for luck. Rich people having their Bentleys parked and arriving in their yachts. Don’t laugh, this casino is located by the sea. I googled it!
So I gather yoga pants are just not going to cut it. Even if I dress them up with badazzled top and sexy heels? Never mind…

After I took some cough medicine I had a brilliant idea. How about instead of going to a casino we all meet online? I propose because they have a pretty website and give us money when we join. We can all stay in our pajamas, skip the small talk and win some money. There is even a VIP lounge and I bet we can pretend we all sailed in on our yachts if we want to.

I know what you are thinking. But, a decade ago everyone would have thought facebook was silly. And now we have more friends online then we do in real life. So why not organize parties at online gaming sites? See, I am a pioneer. Now if only the old fuddy duddies at my husband’s office would agree…

I feel for you! I only get “dolled up” once a year for my hub’s office party too! Hope you feel well enough to go and I’m sure you’ll fabulous! As for online parties, I’m not as progressive as you ;). I like getting out of the house. Hehe.

I feel a bit bad cause I overheard some ladies planning their outfits for months. And here I am, an hour to go and nothing to wear. Have fun at your hubs shindig!!

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. I completely sympathize with your clothing dilemma. Let’s start a revolution with yoga pants. Everything goes with black, right?

It a casino in the Pacific Northwest not a casino in Monte Carlo where ties are required. Picture people smoking , wearing everything from jeans to pajama bottoms. The new hotel section is nice, no where near U.E. Posh. Trust me James Bond would not hang out there. You could get away with some nice slacks and a red sweater. The Casual House is calling your name if you have a credit card with a high limit. If not the Exchange might have something.

I had a housewarming party for which I can bring my boys to this Saturday. But of course I just had unplanned surgery so I am stuck at home. Bah. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh. I hope you went to the party! Just put something that sorta sparkles near your face and wear what you are comfortable in. You will shine.

Ugh. I feel your pain. I have spent the week breathing through one nostril most of the time. Is there anything more annoying?!? And why does it seem like we have to get dressed up on those days when all we want to do is curl up on the couch in stretchy pants. Feel better!!!

I have the same problem. Supposed to go to an all girl holiday party tonight and I can’t find anything to wear. You know, it’s worse when it’s all women!!! Ugh… I’d much rather party online!!! :)

I am a big fan of bingo, but haven’t played in years….and I’m in Vegas where bingo abounds.
Still….would love to see a picture of you in the yoga pants with badazzled top and sexy heels. Cough medicine does tend to give one an elevated fashion sense. I’ll bet you’re gorgeous.
    Anywho, party on!
