Monday Listicles

Hello autumn.

I think I am all grown up because in the past few years I decided it is my favorite season. When you are in school it is impossible to like it, right? But now, autumn is full of goodies. I am also rather high on life because I spend time with Ally yesterday and that my friends is a very special treat. Yeay for happy days!!

Before I get too mushy I want to say thank you for sharing your wedding stories last week. I read most of them on Saturday and felt like I was at a wedding all day again. Without champagne but with dessert. You all make me feel like dancing.

This week I suggested you look around the house and tell me about 10 THINGS IN MY HOME. Before you begin reading mine a quick disclaimer: my house is very tidy as I type this. Unusually tidy in fact. Mostly because husband returned home this week and we made an effort to impress him. But there are still loose cannons everywhere and here are 10. I will spare you the visual images but feel free to ask about the ones that might not make sense to you.

Next week tell me about your TOP 10 AUTUMN MUST HAVES. To get us in the mood for the season.

And now, let’s do the tour of the house.
Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

1. Dinosaur bones stuck in the couch.

2. Remains of the popped orange balloon under my pillow.

3. Whole bag of cotton balls spread neatly on the floor.

4. Avocado tree on the kitchen counter.

5. Warranty for car floor mats on the printer.

6. Fluffy purple boas on the garage floor. And 7 sombreros.

7. Orca whale in the bath tub.

8. Mr Potatohead’s mustache by my keyboard as I type.

9. Personalized licence plate among my office supplies.

10. Empty coffee cup. The only item i plan on rectifying right now.

Aw, I had SUCH a fun time yesterday, too!

I’m laughing at the cotton balls. At the avacado tree, too, because my sad overgrown plant is still in my dining room. I have to beg Hubs to get rid of it while I’m not looking 🙂

And now I feel like I should clean my house.

The only thing that is causing me to scratch my head in wonder is the bag of cotton balls spread “neatly” on the ground. Hmmmm.

Kiddo found daddy longlegs spider in his room and made him a cozy bed out of cotton balls. Then we googled what they eat and he picked some flowers for him.

Bingo! Except the boas, they were for work. In fact the personalized license plate is his for the bike. I just don’t know what it’s doing next to my stapler in the drawer…

Oh man, we could do a whole month of Listicles on the subject “that doesn’t go there.” Although, the whale in the bathtub is appropriate – huge victory and cause for much celebration.
We have a dolphin from Barbie’s Mermaid movie – but I think it’s in the sandbox. It can’t go in the tub because boys’ Super Heroes are in there. Or the Barbie pool because it’s filled with fake plastic food. And I’m pretty sure the pretend kitchen has building blocks. And on it goes….

Your list makes me laugh. I feel like my house is a giant box of misplaced things. But I have gotten so used to their odd placements that now they seem ordinary. Doesn’t everyone have a monkey skull next to their CD collection?

First off, I promise I did not read your list and I jotted down and empty coffee cup, too. Oh, you’re gonna think I’m a copy Cathy, aren’t you? But, I promise!!! =D

This is the first time in quite awhile that I’ve been able to link up. Hopefully, I won’t make the sliding mistake again next week. Thanks for hosting, my friend.

Heh! You are not a copycat but you and I are clearly mistreated and should have our cups refilled, STAT!!

True that. Sombrero makes everything better. We grew ours from a pit of a store bought avocado. Easy peasy. Just google ‘how to grow an avocado’

  6. And many of those things on that list are exactly why I don’t miss little ones. Although I am not sure the big ones are much better, they just randomly place bigger things elsewhere.. ya know like game controllers and their wallets

Kiddo buried it there in hopes it will reincarnate soon. I have gashed it since but I have a funny feeling he will think of it in a week and I will be in trouble…

This pregnancy I have been craving avocados and have been eating one (with Maeve’s help) daily! YUM, to the idea of an avocado tree, even if it’s on the table!

That is amazing. I was avocado mad during pregnancy too. Had to have one every day or I turned loco!! We grew this one from a Hass pit and can you believe they are genetically modified so they will never grow fruit??! Insane…

Bingo! They were props at the wedding photo booth. I was all excited about the tree sprouting but now it is getting cold and I had to move it indoors. ANd I have no idea where to put it…

  8. As always I love your lists… they make me smile because they bring back memories of days gone by when life was full of joy, laughter and I had all my kids at home (It’s not that I can’t let go of my adult kids, jus that I miss my oldest son & my grandkids terribly as each day passes – it’s now been 18 months!!).
I would love to link up but my house and list would be rather boring… so I’ll just enjoy yours and others and the trip down memory lane 🙂
