Monday Listicles

Well hello there.

Yes, yes I am still around. In fact I am typing this as fast as I can to make sure I publish on time. Because rain or shine, show must go on!

The reason I am so beyond behind on everything, including blog reading ( which comes between child rearing and coffee on my most important things in life scale) is work. If you have ever been to our beautiful corner of the world you are familiar with the incredible weather we have in September. Which for a photographer translates to total overbooking. Not too shabby, I know. I do however apologize to my virtual friends for slight neglect and huge backlog on my google reader ( who am I kidding, my google reader is so full I am scared of opening it in case it will explode).

The great thing about working like crazy though is how easy it was for me to choose 10 SONGS for the listicle tonight for Cassie. She called the topic last week and I had a hard time deciding how to approach it. But after I clicked away on the dance floor at a wedding last night I got it: 10 songs I hear the most at weddings this summer. And yes, Call Me Maybe should be on the list, but I love you more then that. You are welcome. And hip hip hurray for Cassie and the great topic she came up with. Thank you girl!

Next week I figured let us keep the theme going since I will be writing my list again late due to another weeding. Let me see your list about 10 THINGS WEDDING. Anything goes.

OK, sing-song time.

Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

10 SONGS THAT MAKE PEOPLE BOOGIE

1. REDNEX : Cotton Eye Joe

2. LOS DEL RIO : Macarena

3. Mr. C THE SLIDE MAN : Cha-Cha Slide

4. THE BEATLES : Twist and shout

5. MICHAEL JACKSON : Thriller

6. MAROON 5 : Moves like Jagger

7. THE ISLEY BROTHERS : Shout!

8. SIR MIX-A-LOT : Baby Got Back

9. BIG & RICH : Save a horse

10. THE BLACK EYED PEAS : I Gotta Feeling

Who am I kidding, have you seen the guy in the video?? Take it away Carly:

All you need is first 30 seconds!

Really I can watch the video without the sound. I just need Adam in his tattedness (yum). BIG AND RICH – the beginning of that song is one of my favorite “beginnings” I haven’t watched the Call Me song video yet because I’ve seen it and she drives me nuts and the end is ridiculous but now I will. Good job Stasha!

Okay I watched the first 30 seconds. Same reason I like Adam Levine’s video. So yummy. Then I told Joe, “Okay remember this?” and played Big and Rich. So flipping awesome. Ahhh…

You have to suffer through Cotton Eye Joe on the west coast too? Not fair.

I have decided to embrace Jepsen because with a teen and a tween in my house she’s a more tolerable choice than One Direction. :) Ellen

Great spin on this week’s prompt, this is why you’re the Listmaster. I’m not sure I can forgive you leaving me with Call me, Maybe bouncing around in my brain. Make it stop LOL

Love it all! But no Adam Sandler signing the Wedding Singer song?
I don’t know what is most shameful, that I can still totally rock the step dancin to Cotton Eye Joe, that I can still do the Macarena, that I still know all of Vincent Prices’ dialogue in Thriller (but have forgotten the dance), I’d rather ride a horse, or that I totally know all the words to Call Me Maybe – may have actually bought it on itunes and might actually blare it while doing dishes. But, she’s Canadian, so I get a pass on that one.
Oh yeah, near forgot….also, mama got back :)

Yay for lots of work! :) Good list. It reminded me of the last time I was at a wedding–over two years ago. I was pregnant & it was funny to see which songs made Sprout kick more. Johnny Cash & hip hop made him ‘dance’ the most. :)

And if you want a fun image in your head, picture me with my baby strapped on in the carrier, doing the cha cha slide :) (yes, it happened)
