The last few days of the summer of 2012.
Well technically there is about a month left, but in my head, once school starts it is all over. I do like autumn and I don’t mind winter so it is all good. Just think of all the pretty new boots out there waiting to be bought.
Thank you all for sharing your lists about cars last week. They really cheered me up. And I am so excited to see what you write for the LIST OF TEN CLUES YOU ARE LIVING IN 2012. Thank you so much Anja for a fun topic.
Next week I am choosing the predictable one for this time of the year. LIST OF TEN-SCHOOL EDITION. Spin it any way you want.
First thing is first:
Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!
10 CLUES THAT YOU ARE LIVING IN 2012
1. You turned 26. Again.
2. Marinka has an iPhone.
3. You have more virtual friends then in real life.
4. You are too busy reading blogs to read the news.
5. Your kid asks you to buy things for him. On Amazon.
6. You double tap photos on Facebook.
7. Town is plastered with same ugly signs to vote for the same people you avoided voting for last time. On the plus side, they clearly all recycle.
8. It says 2012 on your calendar. Just joking. Nobody has calendars…
9. Everybody all of the sudden watches water polo and fencing because of the Olympics.
10. Apparently it is Presidential elections year too. But if you are like me, you had to google it to confirm that fact.

Um, I have a calendar. It’s a huge “Mommy” calendar that’s stuck on my fridge….I need it like I need air. If you read my post, you’ll understand.
I’ll be over here trying to figure out the schedule app on my stupid cell phone

Great list. I think the fact that my two year old knows how to use an Ipad better than I is also a sign that it’s 2012.

I love 3 and 4!! Not only do I have one calendar but I actually have 4! Two that require actually writing things down and two technologically based calendars.
Suppose I have a bit of trouble keeping track??? Usually if I write it down or enter it four times I will remember it…..usually

Great list Stasha, I totally should have thought of #4, which is so true these days! I am also in the calendar camp. For some reason that works better for me than the e-calendars.

Great list. #4 made me laugh. I never read or watch the news anymore. Like Jessica said, Twitter is a font of news-related iinformation.

#4 is a blessing and a curse – I feel pretty dumb when somebody casually mentions a huge news story that I know nothing about, but on the other hand, most news these days I’d probably rather not know.

I love #5. I would also have to add that your three year old brings you the iPad and asks to watch TV. Gotta love technology! Great list!

My nine year old (eight at the time) got on my laptop and used the ‘one click shopping’ button to buy me a Christmas present on MY Amazon account last year! While it warmed my heart that he thought of me like that, I had to lay down some ground rules about what he is and is not allowed to do on the laptop!

Oh I am so glad my boys are not interested in Amazon. They prefer watching videos on YouTube… Our local station has broadcasts online which we watch.

Too busy reading blogs to read the news! LOVE it! That’s me! I still keep a calendar- I got into the habit while the lovelies were growing up because I couldn’t keep the schedules of 4 different kids straight without one. Now though, it’s just blank- so I pay close attention to the pictures. Cell phones didn’t have all the scheduling and list apps back then. Heck, I didn’t even have a cell phone until they were in middle and elementary school. And it was HUGE! LOL

My favorite part of the year is the indian summer, I really like the hot weather with the brilliant vibrating colors of the nature. Unfortunately, both of my sons have already went back to school, so I’m going to have a lot of things to de with their homework…

Number 8 made me laugh cause I actually have one of those “Family Calendars” in the kitchen that is my bible! I’ve tried doing the on-line thing but I keep forgetting to update it and with the paper on…my dear husband can see what’s going on. We have a saying in our house…if it’s on the calendar it must be true.

So funny. I totally double tapped Facebook yesterday! Also, I DO have a calendar. But mainly just for the cute penguin photos in it. The actual event organization gets done on the computer!

Great list, Stasha. We are another family that still needs calendars. I tried to set up an online family calendar through Cozi.com, but I’ve found that I’m more tech-savvy that way than my husband. It just didn’t work! So we have our family calendar by our fridge.
Your list made me think of another one:
“Kids create wish lists on Amazon.com rather than writing to Santa”!
My nephews have Amazon wish lists a mile long!

Number 3! I love that!
It’s Almost true. x
All of those are so true! Except I do have a calender! Its the “hub” of events. I would forget so much without it!

Add me to the I can’t survive w/o a real calender list. I have a gigantic desk calender that serves as our in house family calender. i also have a spiral bound notebook size planner that I keep in my purse.

It was a crazy weekend (Lilah’s having adjustment issues), so I didn’t get around to writing my list. But my biggest clue? I am keeping track of nursing sessions and diaper changes on a baby app for iPhone. Last time around, I’m pretty sure I just used pen and paper!
These are so true! My guy loves electronics and loves being online.
