Monday Listicles

New week brings a new list.

It also brings us a little closer to summer. After reading your summer memories last week I am all ready for it. Thank you for helping me remember and believe that warm weather is indeed coming. I was also reminded by so many fun things we did as kids during school break and cannot wait to do them with my son.

Today we are writing 10 THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM. Topic is chosen by Erin and Ellen, The Sensible moms. I was a bit worried I might sound like my grandma complaining, but then I relaxed and thought of the many unanswered questions about life, love and universe and came up with some stuff that I think of daily. Thanks ladies for a fun topic.

Next week I am giving you an allowance of (pretend) $1000 and ask for a list of 10 things you will spend it on. GO!

And now, let’s ponder.

LIST OF 10 THINGS THAT MAKE ME GO HMM…

 

1. People waving me through in a 4 way stop.

2. Surely it costs more then a penny to make a penny?

3. Why do we blink so much?

4. Why are there no B batteries?

5. Why do we all say ATM machine when M stands for machine anyway?

6. What can mosquitos possibly be good for?

7. What do newborns dream about seeing how they have no experiences yet?

8. How come there is no light in the freezer?

9. How come no one except my dog ever listens to me?

10. Did anyone really like the ‘Things that make you go hmm’ song?

      Thank you B. I refrained from googling before I posted cause they would be ponders no more ;) but you must tell me the answer over a Bailey’s coffee soon!

    What a great topic and list! Yes, why aren’t there B batteries (literally my son asked me this today and I couldn’t come up with a good answer for him) and why is there no light in the freezer? Would the lightbulb explode or something? Now I’m going to be thinking about these deep questions the rest of the night. PS – love that picture!

    I like this week’s topic. Great take on it, Stasha. In our house we talk about the value of all creatures and how each one is precious and deserving of life (as in, they ought not to be squished or otherwise maimed by certain smallish people)…. Except for mosquitoes. Can’t think of a single redeeming quality. :)

    great things to ponder! especially the ATM one….so true.

    as for the “B” batteries….if you have a very old radio, you will need a B battery, except they don’t make them anymore. ATM oddities aside, apparently we did get smarter at technology and the B battery became obsolete.
    Hhhmmmm…now, how the heck did I know that? crazy brain

    For real, I have to open the fridge to get light in the freezer if I am in there with the kitchen light off! Probably means I shouldn’t be rooting around in my freezer though….

    Great list and yes, most of these make me go hmmm. I wonder daily what mosquitos are good for other than an aweful lot of scratching. I can’t leave the house right now without a ton of OFF on every exposed surface of skin!!!

    I have never thought about the fact that there is no light in the freezer….I’m thinking it depends on the model. My freezer doesn’t have a light but Irishman’s does. Go figure…

    Hilarious as always…what about that machine in ATM…redundant, huh?
    Also, just so you know, my freezer does have a light in it (LG in case you ever want to upgrade) but interestingly the light in the fridge burnt out and yes, I probably should replace the bulb.

    About #6: There’s a great quote that suggests, “If you think being small makes you powerless, then you have never been in bed with a mosquito.”

    I still don’t like them, but at least now when I see mosquitoes, I am reminded of my own strength to create changes in the world around me. =)
