Scavenger Hunt

Time for this week’s scavenger hunt:

1. Against the Light
2. Frame Within a Frame
3. Best Part of Your Day
4. Buttons
5. Ink

1. Against the Light

The wind of heaven is that which blows between a horse’s ears.  ~Arabian Proverb

2. Frame Within a Frame

We were walking around town, taking shots for the hunt. I stopped to talk to someone and my son sat down in the window frame. I couldn’t resist posting it, even though this shot fits the idea of the prompt better:

3. Best Part of Your Day

There are so many moments with my son that make my day. But saddling up is one thing I do on my own. So let that be MY best part of the day, solo.

4. Buttons

Pushing the buttons.

5. Ink

I used inkify feature on since I could not find my old fountain pen anywhere.

All of these are perfect! But the one of the boats has my attention. I’ve gone back and looked at it 5 times now.

Are you thinking of using that boat to get to my island? You application has been approved, so come over anytime.

Wow! Beautiful shots, but I can’t get over the “buttons” photo. You have a great eye, and a great macro lens! My girls love playing with my simple camera and I love the combination of little fingers and his mouth showing how he’s trying to figure it all out! It’s fun teaching them so young about photos. My oldest says she wants to go to photography school. I am thinking I’d like to spend the money on a new camera for me :) and give her the camera I have now! And I also like the frame within a frame for how he ‘posed’ so well with different angles and then the colors with gray and blue! You are such a talented artist! Did you take photography classes or does it come naturally?

Thank you so much Kim. This is the third week I set something up to take a photo of and little fingers get in the way. I like the natural light so I try to take photos during the day and Mr. Curious ate my prop last week, played with this one and moved the Legos around a few weeks ago. Guess that is what makes this hunt so much fun, you never know what you end up with…
You will love your new camera. I never had any training, in fact I was deemed untalented when I tried entering a photography based high school. I will send you the post I wrote about that. Think these days the cameras can do so much for us, it makes me look good 😉
I got my boy one of those kiddy cameras when he was 2 and I loved seeing the world through his eyes. I have a point and shoot I bougt at the nex on sale that is very sturdy and water proof and let him take photos when we go out. In fact my twitter photo was taken last winter by my then 3 year old, by mistake.
For the record, all the photos you post of the girls are so full of joy. So keep them coming x

Love your frame shots! Both of them are just awesome! I was thinking about the camera button as well but couldn’t figure out how to make it an interesting picture. Well done!

Thank you Bek. It was a fluke, my kid kept interfering with my shooting the buttons. My stills always end up having a lively feature…

I love my son and the camera is insured, but no. Actually he hasn’t asked to have a go yet, hope it stays that way. Be funky is great, isn’t it?

Lovely to ‘meet’ you Deb. Your blog is such an aesthetic treat!

  27. Phoenix Peacock August 14, 2011 at 15:22 #

these are all fantastic. I love the close up of the saddle. It makes my shoulders and back relax immediately. I think that was part of why I liked riding so much – you couldn’t hold tension without getting bucked so I was always relaxed!

  28. C Mae August 14, 2011 at 16:23 #

Your frame within a frame is my fave out of all the entries!!!!! :)

    Very nice entries my dear.
I really like what you did on Ink, it turned out very cool. Frame is also nice.
I also like push the buttons, my son does the same, so we decide to buy his own camera. But he still loves mine and sometimes I let him use it.
