Monday Listicles / BITB Edition

Welcome to BITB meets ML!

What on earth am I talking about? Some pretty ladies felt like going down memory lane, all the way to high school years. I said: how about we turn it into a list? And that is how BABES IN THE BLEACHERS came about. They are making a debut here, today! So just this once let us call this Monday Listicle a special edition.

Special because there is a cute button that will let everybody know you joined BITB.

Special because I will leave the link up open for a month, so nobody is late for the party.

Special because I will let you get away with anything high school, list or not.

Special because I say so.

For all you list makers, here is what we are doing next week: Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to find HOPES TO STAY AFLOAT blog among the link ups. Then find out what topic my neighbor Hopes chose for next list. In case you are not sure who Hopes is ( why aren’t you anyway?!): you will find her stuck between 3 boys and a husband, on her way to enjoy a vacation and umbrella drinks.

OK, let’s go back to school!

Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

10 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME DURING HIGH SCHOOL

1.  I took public bus number 1 and then changed  to number 13 to get to my high school.

2. I struggled with math throughout high school.

3. If we skipped class, we usually went for a cappuccino in the gallery around the corner.

4. In year two I had my hair cut very, very short. Sinead O’Connor kind of short.

5. Our first class started at 7:10 AM and we were done by 1:10 PM.

6. I had student season tickets to the theatre all 4 years of high school.

7. I was assistant skiing coach. Mostly so I could hit the slopes for free.

8. I won national contest for best research paper in geography and a trip to Rome as a prize.

9. My favorite professor was Nives Ratkajec. She still teaches art class.

10. I only stay in touch with two of the girls from my class. Mojca and Mateja.

I can’t imagine waking up at 7:10 for high school although I’m sure I did.

7:10 seems so early! I had to leave early because I had a 45 minute bus ride to school my junior and senior years. I only really keep in touch with a couple people from high school, too – but I like to look at everyone’s pictures on facebook. No need to attend a reunion! And where are the pictures of your Sinead O’Connor hair?

This was a very fun topic!

ALL my photo albums were lost in the move 4 years ago. Shame, cause it looked kinda cool. Love your photos, I honestly would share mine if I could!
I had a 45 minute commute too, so I was up at 6AM. You know it is early when your parents are still asleep when you are leaving for school :)

WOW… Rome!? I’m jealous! That’s one hell of a prize! The only thing I won back in HS was a free cheese burger from McDonald’s for winning a tricycle race during Homecoming week one year.

Never underestimate the power of a cheese burger! My trip was a nerd fest in Italy, we had a blast! Much better then pleading to 10 stinky 8 year old budding skiing champions to take a shower in a ski chalet in return for free ski lift passes.

A lot of visits to the coffee shop when not in class here too. Many, many donuts eaten in said coffee shop. That is an early day – wow! And that’s quite the claim to fame, the national contest win. Rome? Wow!

I worked very hard, it was a 500 page paper on something insanely boring. Real research too. The trip to Rome was with all the other winners and their mentors. I sat on the bus with the physics winner. It was fun! Even my professor turned out a bit more interesting then in school…

If I’d known you and the other posters in high school, maybe I wouldn’t have been so unhappy. Alas, I was stuck in the midwest with a lot of hair and boys with mullets. But that’s my own post, coming soon. Now in a hotel w/wifi, so a Babes list coming soon. These are great, and thank you, Stasha, for letting us all come play in the gym instead of getting into trouble somewhere after school with unsavory characters!

And I was way too chicken to skip class :)
