Monday Listicles

Back to the traditional Monday Listicles.

Hands up who had fun visiting school last week? I really enjoyed getting to know the younger you. I noticed many of you visited all the contributing blogs, so I will tick this special edition Listicle a success. In case you have not yet written your High School list of 10, BITB link up remains open until December.

Firstly a big thank you to Hopes from Staying Afloat for a great topic this week: 10 THINGS THAT MAKE A PERFECT VACATION. And as a special treat to Hopes, make sure you all visit her post so she gets a big surprise when she lands back from Mexico!

As for next week: your mission, should you chose to accept it is to find Jen’s list and see what great topic she has chosen. If you are unsure which Jen, here are some clues: she is a hostess of a happy TGIF linky and the artist behind Blind Love Knits.

I have been on an island holiday every day right here at home. My life in itself makes for a perfect vacation (minus tardy housekeeping-my fault). So with this list I will dream a little of the places that would make a perfect vacation for my son and I to explore in about ten years time. While we travel the world, Daddy will be at beach resort with his feet up, doing nothing. See, I dream for everyone…

Your turn.

Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

I’ve only been to one place on your list…Alaska. You would take some amazing photos there! I’m willing to go to the other nine places with you.

P.S. Somehow, I linked my post twice. But I don’t know how to delete one. Help!

Only I have the power to do that πŸ™‚ Puff, done. As for traveling I will give you heads up when it is time to pack. In the mean time, more realistically, you should come over to visit!

Amazing places for sure. There is so much I still have yet to discover here in Canada…let alone the big wide world. I’d love to dog sled across our frozen tundra, ride across the plains, or camp in the mountains.

There is a little town in Nova Scotia, called Lunenburg, and it has pretty colored houses by the ocean just like the Greenland pic. It is amazing to come sailing into the harbour and see them all reflected in the water’s edge; along with the sailboats and probably a few tall ships for good measure. Photographer’s dream I guess.

I am putting Luneburg on my list! Thank you Rory. And I know what you mean. North America has all these thing and we have no where near enough time.

Pick you up on the way to Mongolia.
But seriously, have a great time in Oz my friend xo

I know what you mean. I have everything I ever wanted right here on our doorstep so I had to go big on these vacation plans!

So funny what Amanda wrote right before me. But I am not a huge traveller either. I really don’t like being away from my home for more than about a week to ten days. But those pictures are beautiful.

Right back at you. And I might just have to take you up on that. Seeing how great your holiday was made me very happy this morning. And the guide photo too…

okay, your vacations have exhausted me and I’ve not even left my chair. Beautiful pictures but there are NO BEACHES in any of them…and really, what’s the point of traveling somewhere if there’s no beach at the end of the journey? I might meet you in Iceland (in the summer) or drive with you in Namibia but otherwise…I’ll be sailing somewhere tropical… or maybe in Udaipur.

I live by the beach! I want mad adventures, the Amazing race style. But I know I am rather annoying that way. That is why in my fantasy I am kind and dispatch husband to hang with you guys by the beach with umbrella dressed drinks πŸ™‚
Iceland has always been my dream and I promise to give you heads up before I go.

Very colorful right? I love pinning pretty photography and dream of the world. I am sure there is lots in Bulgaria to do and see.

Thank you, they are dreamy aren’t they? your post on backing up is really great, thank you for sharing Dominique.

You know thinking of Yellowstone and Grand Canyon, Utah, Colorado, Vermont in fall, NYC any given day and just the islands I live on there really is no need to live the country, ever.
And after snuggling on the couch with my boy, watching Fireman Sam today, there is no need to leave the house sometimes either. But you already know that πŸ™‚

I am so glad to have you join us. Your list blew my socks off!
If you look at all your PNW girls lists there are tropical destinations involved. Suppose mine cannot make it more obvious I was not born in WA! Ask me to make this list in 20 years time, sure there will be more palms πŸ˜‰

I don’t care much for heat and bikinis. But I think we both share the love for fancy drinks. I guess I will have mine in a thermo.

I will give you ample time to pack. Be sure to bring Puppy, Lamb and Piglet along!

Ihad a post of all the places I’d like to go all written up, but it wasn’t sitting right with me. So I deleted it and started over. The pics you chose are so pretty, and I had no idea Norway had a watery city such as Venice. At least, that’s what it looks like in the pic.

Thanks for letting me pic next week’s topic. I hope you like it!

Growing up I had a map of the world on the wall behind my desk. And Ulan Bator was right in my eye sight as I studied. So I used to daydream about riding across the Gobi dessert instead of studying math. I suppose I really ought to go and justify my terrible math grades. We shall make plans, you and I πŸ™‚

I love yours!! Yes, I think taking our kids to Petra together would be a riot. In a good way.

Immediately when I saw these photos Stasha, I thought they were all your own and I was ready to infintely hate you for 1) having traveled to these awesome destinations and 2) for having captured such beautiful images.
Then I read your entry, and my hatred disappeared and instead I found myself in agreement. What a fabulous “bucket” list!

Isn’t it just? Tell you what, you made Jersey beach look like somewhere I need to stop next time we are on the right side. No, i pinched most of those from Nat Geo. I mean I am a good photographer, but not Nat Geo kind of good πŸ™‚

    1. Twitter: NorthWestMommy
Great twist on the words. Why didn’t I think of that?! As for you my friend, you rocked Oz!

    1. Twitter: NorthWestMommy
My dear Linda, I am an absolute minority. The other few people with my bizarre inclinations have shows on Nat Geo…
My son wanting to come along on these expeditions is probably as far fetched as us ever making it there to begin with!
I looked at my fair share of Oz surfers and they usually go home with another cute wave rider πŸ˜‰ That is why I believe my chances for a good time are far greater in a small town Alaska.

    1. Twitter: NorthWestMommy
Thank you Rachel. Jump in anytime with any kid of list. And thank you for todays post. Made me stop and think. Be more aware. You are a brave lady.

If she was in Alaska I would be too… Love the new meme Bruna, read the posts linked, girls are inspiring. How long will you leave it open for?

    1. Twitter: NorthWestMommy
They do look pretty and inviting, don’t they? Love the list you wrote today. A very happy one. Glad you got your sunny getaway πŸ™‚

  7. Oh man… I think you may have just added some more destinations to my bucket list! Sorry I was such a loser this week and didn’t get around to linking up – AND that I’m just now getting by here to read some of the linked up posts! Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!! πŸ™‚
