Listicles make your Monday just a tad better.
And you can quote me on that. Thanks to Bits of Bee, who chose a great topic for this week’s list, I have been in quote heaven. I love using other people’s wisdom and wit to express my thoughts and opinions. I wrote a list of 10 Churchill quotes ( my favorite by him is “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”), then list of 10 blog quotes I wish I wrote ( like “Facebook: your new electronic mother”- by Mannahatta Mamma) and 10 best Little J quotes. But in the end I decided to share with you something I grew up with: Loesje. My home town has a very active Loesje group. They spread thoughts and opinions on life and current events by posters they hang around town. They are thought provoking and as a teenager I loved walking around the city spotting them and quoting them. So I went through their archives and picked my favorite ones from the past few years.
I am so excited because @AdoTheMomalog is deciding what to write a list about next week. Surely you all know her: she is funny, talented and cares about our children’s future. She always visits your list and leaves the best comments. And she was a runner up on Lovelinks (only because I could not vote over and over again, but they say cheating is no good) which practically makes her a celebrity. So your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find her blog and and see what is the topic next week.
And now, quote away!
Make a list, check it twice, link it up. Read others. Have fun!

Love all these! I’ll be late to Monday Listicles this week. I stopped by looking for the prompt and couldn’t find it before it was time for me to
ramblewrite my post for tomorrow. What a nice thing you said about lovelinks making a celebrity out of Ado. So very nice, thank you.Erica M recently posted..lovelinks #25 winner: @btchygirls

First, I’m totally sorry because I didn’t realize there was a prompt for this – I thought it was just a list of 10 things. Feel free to delete my linkup. My apologies! Those posters are great. I love the Google one. I want it for my bedroom!

Love these posters! And love what “underground” art can do for our minds and perspectives. Until I saw these, I hadn’t realized that one of the things I miss about NYC is the constant commentary written on sidewalks, billboards, buildings…I suppose the graffiti here may be also politically provocative (although I doubt it) … but of course, it’s in Arabic and I can’t read it!
Thanks for these. I think my fave is about why put people in closets in the first place. Good question. Is Loesje a collective, a person (like Banksy), or the word for this kind of commentary?

I know, I read so much on line but going through their archives( I caught up on the Slovenian ones too) made me realize how much I miss a written word. You know, in print. Must be why you still get NYer delivered to your door (pigeonhole)?

Stasha, I LOVE these posters and am so excited to have discovered Loesje thanks to you! I have been pouring over the website and it is right up my alley of interest! I’d much rather read through their posters and ponder their meaning than waste the evening watching something on TV
Yay!! I love the ideas for all of your lists. Before I made mine, I tried to use the little brain power I have left to quote famous lines in literature about motherhood, but that turned out to be too challenging! This was a fun topic and I love seeing/reading what you did with it!

I haven’t heard of Loesje either, but it must have been so much fun for to you to spot the posters and read the quotes. Great list! I especially love the google and boredom ones.
P.s. I didn’t follow the prompt again this week (though I love them and this was a great one) as I had my giveaway planned- but I look forward to more prompts-especially funny lady Ado’s

The childhood boredom made me laugh, my kids told me they were bored ONCE, then I found something for them to do and trust me it wasn’t what they had in mind! Recently my nephew told my daughter he was bored and she dared him to say it to me…bet he doesn’t do that again lol…

BTW, thank you for picking me to choose the topic – so flattered! – and that was very sweet of you to write all that stuff about me nearly being a celebrity and everything, especially since Klout somehow believes me to be a frigging Specialist. Hmph! (-:
